  • Rob Arbery- Chair of Governors

I have been a Governor now for almost 10 years my son attended the school from the age of 4 to 16, which as you know is gone in a flash. I am committed and excited to be part of the Hill Park family.

  • Sally Howell - Vice Chair of Governors

I am a parent to two young people with SEN. My daughter used to attend Hillside School and I have remained involved as a governor even though she is no longer at the school.

I am also a governor at Downs View School, a trustee of Extratime and Amaze and a founder member and fundraiser for Brighton Pebbles.

  • Sarah Chaston

I have been a staff governor for 18 months and have worked at Hill Park school since September 2014. I am a mother to 2 children and previously worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. During this time of expansion and change within the school I am excited to support and develop this process for both staff and pupils.

  • Zoe Anstey

I have been a governor for nearly 4 years now. My previous employment roles have meant that I have had a long standing connection with Hill Park School, having previously been the Operations Director for Extratime. This connection has spanned across nearly 16  years.

My career has focused on extended day provisions across the city, in particular inclusive out of school services. This has now led me to taking on the Extended Day Services Manager role based at both Hill Park and Downs View Hubs.

  • Lisa Grufferty

I am a mother of 2 girls and my eldest daughter is at Hill Park School and joined in 2015 (Year 2).

I have worked at Gatwick Airport for over 28 years.  I am currently the Head of Strategic Planning for the airport owners (GAL).  I have held various senior positions including, project and programme management.  I have led various sizes of teams and have gained experience in strategic planning, budget and staff management.

I joined the Governors in June 2017, I enjoy being part of the team and using my Business expertise whilst ensuring that we continue to improve all children's education, as everyone deserves to reach their full potential.

  • Elizabeth Wood

I am privileged to approach my role as a governor from a dual perspective: currently I have two daughters (aged 5 and 13) happily attending Hill Park and I was previously a teacher at the school for 18 years before leaving to adopt my second child.
During my twenty-three years teaching, I worked mainly with students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. I now continue this passion as a parent. I am keen to ensure an on-going, excellent educational provision for the diverse needs of all pupils attending Hill Park School.

I am enjoying being a governor at this exciting time of expansion and development of our school and am looking forward to experiencing the wide range of opportunities provided when my eldest daughter moves to the upper site in September, whilst my youngest continues through the Lower site.

In my 'spare time' I am a volunteer befriender for Amaze's Face2Face project and when time permits I am involved in the PTA.

  • Clare Whitworth

I have a 9 year old son that attends Hill Park. Before having my son I worked in various roles then became a mature student attending The University of Sussex going on to become a Secondary and Sixth form teacher. I now work as an Individual Needs Assistant/Teacher in a main stream Primary School.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and sewing. I also spend quite a bit of our time visiting cafes and trains with my son that I also enjoy. I also volunteer for the local charity Amaze as a Face2face befriender.
